Monitoring and Evaluation

Course Objectives

This course specifically seeks to:

  • Equip participants with the ability to understand the relationship between projects and development
  • Equip participants with the ability to distinguish between the concepts of monitoring and evaluation and their relationships
  • Equip participants with the ability to know the criteria for conducting an evaluation
  • Equip participants with the ability to develop monitoring and evaluation indicators for their organizations
  • Equip participants with the ability to determine the appropriate methods, procedures, and techniques for collecting and analyzing data monitoring and evaluation data
  • Equip participants with the ability to set up monitoring system for their organizations
  • Equip participants with the ability to plan for an evaluation
  • Equip participants with the ability to use monitoring and evaluation results as feedback into the planning process

Target Group

This programme is designed for those responsible for monitoring and evaluation of projects both during the design or the implementation phase (projects financed by the World Bank, UNDP, USAID, CIDA, AFDB, EU, etc) and by extension for project managers working in technical and functional departments and ministries of para-statals.
