  • Provide real-time reports. BetterData provides both Concern-Universal and its donors with real-time reporting information. The most current status of activities, indicator data and implementation status of each municipality can be viewed at any time.
  • Eliminate multiple disparate systems. Since BetterData focuses on the MuniSAM implementation process, it incorporates all data needed to manage and monitor the programme.  BetterData's modular approach makes it easy for Concern-Universal to incorporate changes or even new programmes as their work grows.

Teba Development and Lima Rural Development automate $9 million a month in cash transfers to 130,000 people

Overview - Teba Development and Lima Rural Development Foundation process payments to over 130,000 people a month.  All of these people are living on the poverty line and depend on this income to meet their basic needs.  They are often based in remote areas and are hard to contact.  Hence, it's critical that there payments are made on time.  However, both partners have found that between 5000 and 10,000 payments fail each month.  The reasons for this range from in-correct account information to suspended bank accounts (in-active bank accounts are suspended quite quickly in South Africa).

Overview - A flagship national programme in South Africa - the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) aims to provide poverty and income relief through temporary work for the unemployed to carry out socially useful activities.  Launched in April 2004 the immediate goal of the EPWP phase one was to help alleviate unemployment by creating at least 1 million work opportunities, of which at least 40% of beneficiaries will be women, 30% youth and 2% people with disabilities.
